Timekeeper Training

We are looking for people to train to become official timekeepers. This involves attending a training course that takes about 2 hours and is held at Abbey Stadium usually while a swim session is in progress. The training is delivered by Pat Smith.

The training is followed by an assessment that is usually conducted during the club championships.

After attending the course you would be used as a time keeper while your swimmer is competing in galas. It's a great way to get close to the action.

Without having sufficient timekeepers for the galas/competitions it is not viable to hold events so I do hope a large number of volunteers come forward.

This is an ideal start for parents to get into the understanding of competitive swimming and would ideally suit those parents/carers who have swimmers in the Development or Junior Squads though it is not limited to these groups.

If you are interested in becoming a timekeeper please contact Paul Hartland at
